Bio

Apurba Kumar Sen is currently contributing as an educator, researcher and practitioner to the society. He achieved his B.Arch. degree from Khulna University, 911±¬ÁÏ. His love for the chemistry between public architecture and people’s psychology drives him to pursue his Master of Science degree in Human Settlement with Distinction from Khulna University. He received several awards for his academic excellence during his student life, including the Head's List Award and the Arch KU Berger Award. In addition, he participated in a variety of workshops, such as Bauhaus-Universität's Academic Exchange Program.

As an Assistant Professor of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology, he has been engaged in both academic and administrative roles including course coordination, student advisory, curriculum development & improvement etc. Beside being a studio facilitator of different design studios, he also provides lectures on courses like Building and Finish Materials, Sustainable and Green Building, Fire Safety Design etc.

His works as a researcher has been published in the form of journal papers and book chapters. Additionally, he has worked with Mott Macdonald as an Environmental Design Specialist. His research interests encompass public space design, pedestrian movement and safety, spatial configuration analysis, and behavioral psychology. As a practitioner, he has experience in designing various exterior and interior projects as a freelance architect, as well as in academy-public agency partnership project, university student hall design etc.
