Welcome to my homepage of personal profile in the university website. I have focused on the development of novel characterization techniques for sustainable supplementary cementitious materials sourced from mining refinery residues and implementing them in concrete to reduce the global carbon footprint associated with cement production. Concrete is the second most human usage after water and its main component is cement, whose production contributes 5% of the global carbon footprint. Specifically, I have studied cutting-edge ultramicroscopic characterizations of mining by-products to gain an in-depth understanding of the reaction kinetics and their performance in maintaining concrete properties by replacing 40-60% cement to reduce 35-55% CO2 emission associated with concrete production. My research integrates ultramicroscopic assessment of mining residues as a partial cement replacement, decarbonize concrete throughout its life cycle, advanced concrete technology, and 3D concrete printing.
