Bio

Dr. Md. Abdul Hasib is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), 911±¬ÁĎ. He holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Japan, specializing in advanced mechanical engineering disciplines. With expertise in fatigue and fracture mechanics, material behavior under stress, composite materials, material characterization, and sustainable materials, Dr. Hasib’s research has significantly contributed to understanding material degradation, structural integrity, and thermal management in engineering applications. His work aims to enhance the durability, efficiency, and sustainability of engineering materials used in modern industrial applications.

 

Prof. Hasib is deeply engaged in both research and academic mentorship, guiding undergraduate and postgraduate students in cutting-edge mechanical engineering studies. His expertise encompasses both experimental and computational analysis of material degradation, fracture mechanics, failure analysis, stress-strain characterization, and the thermal and mechanical performance of advanced materials, with a focus on enhancing material reliability and performance in engineering applications. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, collaborating with other academia.

 

Throughout his academic career, he has received several prestigious awards and scholarships, including Best Paper Awards at international conferences, the Excellent Paper Award for a journal publication, the Dean’s Award for academic excellence during his master's studies, and the esteemed Miura Award from the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME).

 

Prof. Hasib also serves as a Testing Officer and Consultant at the Consultancy, Research, and Testing Services (CRTS) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KUET. He actively welcomes collaboration with researchers, students, and industry professionals interested in advancing knowledge and applications related to his expertise.
