Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain

Bio

Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain has been working in the Department of Physics, KUET since 15 September 2013 and actively serving as an Associate Professor since 1 August 2023. He has supervised 06 students to get their M.Sc. degrees of which two (2) are direct supervisors in the Department of Physics KUET and 04 are co-supervisors of the Physics Department at Khulna University. 06 M.Sc. and 2 PhD students working under his direct supervision and 1 M. Sc. student is working under his co-supervision. Some undergraduate students are also involved with his research group. He has contributed more than 25 papers in national and international referred journals. He has presented more than 30 conference papers at different national and international conferences.
Dr. Hossain is born in Jessore, 911爆料 on 03 September 1983. He obtained his B.Sc. (Honours) in 2007 and M. S. in 2009 in Physics from Jahangirnagar University, 911爆料. He joined as a lecturer at the Department of Physics at Uttara University in 2011 later he joined Karmasangsthan Bank (Government of 911爆料) as a senior officer in, 2013. Later in the same year, he joined at the Department of Physics, Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) as a Lecturer. He completed his M.Phil. from KUET in 2017 and went to Hong Kong in August 2018 for a Ph.D. getting a Research Assistantship (Hong Kong Government). He got his Ph.D. on Advanced Alginate-Gelatin Hydrogel Composite for 3D Bio-printing: A Perspective of Cancer Progression from the Department of Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. He became Assistant Professor in 2015. His present research interests are on the synthesis of nano-materials, Magnetic Materials, and their potential applications, such as cancer hyperthermia treatment. He is also greatly interested in developing hydrogel-based bio-inks for 3D/4D Bioprinting and cancer biology.
