Hello, I am Tanmoy Mazumder. I completed my graduation in Urban and Regional Planning (URP) from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) in 2020. I have been serving as a faculty in this department since July 17, 2022. Before joining KUET, I worked as a GIS Expert on various international government projects from March 2020 to June 2022. Simultaneously, I started my master’s degree in January 2021 and completed it in March 2024 from the dept of URP, KUET.
I love teaching. Throughout my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to introduce and teach 15 courses, including GIS and Remote Sensing, Disaster Science and Management, Fundamentals of Planning Process, Regional Development Planning, Site and Area Planning, and Computer Applications in Planning, among others. I come from a solid technical background with a strong interest in GIS and Remote Sensing. My research interests focus on urban growth modelling, environmental and disaster risk reduction, and climate change modelling through the application of GIS, Remote Sensing and Machine Learning. Beyond my academic responsibilities, I have developed an online course, "Mapping and Spatial Analysis with ArcGIS," on the Bohubrihi platform under SHIKHO, expanding access to geospatial learning (ArcGIS ; YouTube Channel ).
My hobby is drawing and I have been actively involved in various co-curricular activities from my childhood. Presently, I serve as a moderator and treasurer of two departmental clubs, and I am well-experienced in organizing various programs. Throughout my time as a student at KUET and now as a faculty member, I have actively contributed to the successful execution of various departmental programs. I am dedicated to motivating students to participate in competitions and provide them with examples and guidance to help them succeed.
