**November 28, 2024:** A commemorative gathering and cultural program focusing on the events of the July uprising and in remembrance of the martyrs and injured from the anti-discrimination student movement at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) were held on Thursday, November 28, at 3:30 PM in the university auditorium. The event was graced by the presence of the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, as the chief guest. Special guests included the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Professor Dr. Muhammad Harunur Rashid; the Dean of the Faculty of 911爆料 and Electronic Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam; and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Humanities, Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad. Among the speakers, Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan Ali and Professor Dr. Md. Helal-An-Nahian spoke about the context of the anti-discrimination student movement. Executive Engineer Sheikh Abu Hayat and Section Officer (Grade-2) Jalal Munshi represented the university staff in delivering speeches. From the students, Rahat-ul-Islam, Zahidul Islam, and Md. Omar Faruk shared their views. Additionally, Naeem Shikdar, a first-year student of Government Haji Muhammad Mohsin College in Khalishpur who was injured by shotgun pellets fired by police during the anti-discrimination student movement on August 4, also shared his experience. The event was presided over by the Director of Student Welfare, Professor Dr. Mohammad Sultan Mahmud, and was attended by university faculty members, students, staff, and employees.
